Pittsburgh-Jacksonville Dance Club to relocate to Las Vegas

JACKSONVILLE, Fla.

— The Pittsburgh Penguins are in talks with a Las Vegas sports entertainment and hospitality company to open a new dance club.

According to a news release from the NHL Players Association, the team has hired The Palace Group to find a new venue to host events, such as concerts, events for youth and the expansion of its Youth Hockey Program.

The Penguins announced last week it would move its Youth hockey Program from Pittsburgh to Las Vegas as part of the NHL’s “2035 Expansion Draft.”

The announcement was met with skepticism among some fans.

Penguins owner Mario Lemieux told ESPN.com the Penguins will continue playing games at CONSOL Energy Center.

But Lemieque, in a statement to ESPN.

“We believe the Penguins are the right fit and have not been denied this opportunity.”

The Penguins are scheduled to play their first game at CONSol Energy Center against the Dallas Stars on Saturday night.
